What do we pray about, and how?

Printer friendly page

Here is an outline of what we pray for:

* God's Church increasing in holiness
* The unity of the Church - united voice and purpose
* A deepening prayer and worship life for all UK believers
* A boldness and purity in all congregations
* Effective evangelism, and softening of the UK public to the Gospel
* An increasing openness in society to Jesus and the moral standards of the Bible
* A rolling back and repentance over the sin that has caused God to hide His face from our land
* The youth of the Church be anointed powerfully for this generation
* Revival in the land that touches all ages and all classes: in prisons, on University campuses, in schools, in local and national government.
* A Godly government that honours God and the Bible
* God's influence over TV and every other media
* Europe and the UK
* Other issues, including reaching Indian and Muslim communities

SheildImage On the right here is a picture of our Prayer Shield. This is a schedule that breaks up the whole week into one-hour slots. When you log in, you can choose an hour that suits you. You can see on the right (just below) that 'Dave from Hull' has chosen to pray for the UK between 4am-5am every Sunday morning for example.

You simply click on an hour that has not been taken yet, and commit to praying through this hour every week. We will send you a list of prayer items to act as a guide, but you will also find prayer topics in the Forums on the website if you like. Let the Holy Spirit lead you into praying for what He thinks is important during your hour.

SheildImage There are no rules against choosing more than one hour! You can see in our example that 'Bob from Berwick' has chosen to pray between 2am-3am Mondays, and 2am-3am Sundays. We also welcome Christians from other countries to pray for us,- anyone who has a heart for the UK. We're already privileged to have some brothers and sisters in the USA praying for us.

You can choose to register and unregister at any time. Some people have committed to pray for 6 months, others a year. Because the prayer shield is online, at a click of a button you can register or unregister, or change the time you pray.

Our aim is to cover the entire week, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week with prayer with unceasing intercession before God, and constant prayer against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms.
The strategic idea is that the forces in the spiritual realm will be worn down by constant prayer, with no room for recovery. There will be a constant witness before God interceding for the UK.

Every week or two, we'll send you updated prayer points. You can choose to stop praying anytime you want, or change at what time you pray too.
