(Fasting days are the third Thursday in every month). 2010 : Christians need more power As the spiritual temperature rises in the UK, Christians need more power from God to be able to stand with boldness in a Christlike way. It is thought that God is refining the Church and we need to be looking to spend time in His presence being changed by the Holy Spirit and empowered to live like Jesus. Intercessors UK have announced that there will be a fasting day every month until further notice. This comes after issuing a call to fast in January to seek God's face with special reference to a word of prophecy given by Clifford Hill. The third Thursday in every month has been designated a fasting day. Jan 2010: Equality Law may threaten religious freedoms - "line up your lawyers", Church is told The Government has lost in the House of Lords over its attempt in the Equality Bill to alter the law on who churches and other faith-based groups can employ.The Government’s defeat means no change to the current law, which permits churches and other faith-based employers to protect their ethos by insisting staff live consistently with the religion’s doctrine on sexual behaviour.. Schoolgirls to be shown 'abortion rights' video Girls as young as 14 are to be told in a new video that having an abortion is their ‘right’ and is unlikely to cause them emotional or physical problems. The pro-abortion group FPA (formerly the Family Planning Association) is promoting the video to schools. Earlier this year the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCP) warned that having an abortion can damage a woman’s mental health. The RCP said women should be warned of the risks before proceeding. Embryology Bill - license granted for human-pig hybrid After the bill was passed last year it has emerged that a team of scientists from the university of Warwick have been granted a license to create human-pig embyros by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). The scientists want to use the embryos to produce embryonic stem cells for research into heart disease. 		2900 Reads Intercessor prayer alert January 2010 Terrorist threat In recent weeks there have been many security alerts that should cause us to pray over our national security (the Christmas Day bomb plot being the most recent.) Please continue to pray that God would continue to grant us undeserved mercy in uncovering these plots and prevent innocent lives being lost. police have foiled numerous plots Sir Ian Blair in an interview last year alluded to the fact that the police have foiled 15 terror plots in the UK since the year 2000. That figure has gone up recently. The threat against innocent lives in this country is still very present. We need to thank God for His undeserved protection, but also keep very vigilant in prayer against the terrorist plots out there, and the spiritual forces behind them. We really need to pray: * protection over our airports * protection for shopping centres in the UK * wisdom and insight for the police * that those plotting would turn to Christ * protection over train stations * any venue which attracts large crowds (eg: football stadiums) * Our coastlines click read more... for archived prayer alerts. 	Prayer for this month Prayer for February 2010 Father, we pray in Jesus name for our nation that we would see intercession rise up in our young people. Lord, inspire the youth to use their energy in prayer. O Lord, would you begin to sweep over the young believers in our country and draw them into the prayer room. Let them be freed from all the entanglements that hold them back and give them special grace to use their time wisely in intercession, in Jesus name we ask. Amen.
